Orana and Down Syndrome SA merger now complete

We can now confirm that the merger of Down Syndrome SA with Orana Australia Limited has been successfully completed after all of the necessary consents, approvals and agreements being transferred for the continuation of services and we are pleased to say all staff have accepted employment with Orana.

Both parties are committed to the agreements made within the Transmission Deed. With the sudden and sad passing of Board Member Paul Kerin negotiations are currently taking place for a replacement from Down Syndrome SA on the Orana Australia Limited Board.

In the first six months we will establish a client reference group and a strategic plan for continuing programs and services.

Down Syndrome SA remains a separate division within Orana and all current programs and services continue with their base remaining at Ridleyton. Although Down Syndrome SA sought to continue their membership with Down Syndrome Australia an agreement could not be reached and Down Syndrome SA is no longer a member of Down Syndrome Australia. There will be an ongoing collaborative relationship to ensure that the voices of the Down syndrome community in South Australia are being heard nationally.
